You can contribute to creating this encyclopedia and help us secure long-term, sustainable and independent operation. We aim to make the membership community our future long-term primary funding source.
You can discuss new content and the encyclopedia's features, help build new (academic, media, NGO, funding and other) partnerships, or participate in campaigns to deliver this resource to people all over the world.
Meet and interact with our team, other members, or possibly even various authors and partners in the future.
- At the initial stage, our community will interact through the Slack Platform.
- It will enable everyone to participate both passively (e.g. only reading regular internal reports), as well as very closely, discussing Atlas' development in an interactive and structured way.
- All according to your interest and availability.
It will enable us:
1) cover our small debts and needed software
2) negotiate institutional partnerships to produce full themes together (e.g. a comprehensive portrait of the Middle East), and to address first readers around the world
3) invest into the grant fundraising so we speed up our development significantly

This calculator visualises how far we are from achieving our current goal.
The first version of our encyclopedia is now ready.
It consists of previews of the initial three sample themes: Russia-Ukraine War, Global Issues and Russia.
And we tried to build (unsuccessfully) an initial membership community primarily during June-July 2024.
It will enable us:
1) cover our small debts and needed software
2) negotiate institutional partnerships to produce full themes together (e.g. a comprehensive portrait of the Middle East), and to address first readers around the world
3) invest into the grant fundraising so we speed up our development significantly
With this help, we could:
1) regularly create new content (portraits of individual world regions, global issues or countries)
2) intensively negotiate partnerships with research institutions, NGOs or media to produce new content and deliver this resource to people around the world
3) start developing the interactive world map
Our main aim for this initial period is to test our concept and demonstrate the need for our new encyclopedia. In addition, we hope to establish our new encyclopedia in the global network of academic institutions, NGOs, media outlets, and foundations, while constantly inviting more members to join us on our journey.
Reaching 1000 members donating monthly (when equivalent to around 10,000€ per month) will allow us to begin developing the socio-political interactive map. We will create it agilely and add new features to the existing public website as we go. We also intend to create our own community platform for members. In the meantime, we will focus on creating new content and further promoting our encyclopedia in global academia to engage with more authors from around the world.
Reaching 2000 members donating monthly (when equivalent to around 20,000€ per month) will enable us to establish a permanent editorial board. This will have a similar role to that of an academic journal. Through this, we will be able to edit multiple entries on various countries and global topics simultaneously. As the map develops, we will focus on forming extensive and regular cooperation with journalists, NGOs, and influencers worldwide.
